The 2016 Halliday Wine Companion reviews are in – 2013 Diana Madeline, 98 points and ‘Other Reds’ Winner!

2013-Diana-Madeline-pngWe are very excited to announce our New Release 2013 Diana Madeline has received an exceptional rating of 98 points from James Halliday in the Halliday 2016 Wine Companion released today, one of his highest accolades.  It was also named the Winner in the ‘Other Reds’ varietal category at the 2016 Qantas epiQure Halliday Wine Companion Awards in Sydney Tuesday night, for the second year running.

2013 Cullen Diana Madeline 98 Points
A bright crimson 73/20/7% blend of cabernet, merlot and franc, aged for an average of 17 months in French barriques (60% new). There is no doubt this is Cullen’s greatest wine, and one of Australia’s greatest cabernet blends, the only real competition coming from other Margaret River blends. The bouquet is perfumed, the palate fluid and graceful, notwithstanding the intensity of its cassis et al fruits which give the wine its awesome length, fine tannins and its balance.”

2013 Kevin John HRES (236x800)

Our 2013 Kevin John received an outstanding 96 points, 2014 Mangan Vineyard Merlot Malbec Petit Verdot 95 points and 2014 Mangan Vineyard Semillon  Sauvignon Blanc 93 points.

2013 Cullen Kevin John 96 points
Hand-picked on a biodynamic flower day; whole bunch-pressed and wild-fermented in French oak and an egg, with a completely spontaneous fermentation before maturation for 7 months in French oak (30% new). It has brightness and life from the natural acidity remaining after the mlf, the fruit flavours drawn from both citrus and stone fruit inputs. Chardonnay.”
– James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion 2016

Our soon to be released 2013 Mangan East Block received 95 points along with the 2014 Cullen Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc (to be released later in the year). For all the reviews and to buy James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2016 please click here
