Deep crimson. There’s a very light leafy note that reminds you you are in Margaret River but the overriding impression is cassis purity – fruit and leaf. Succulent and dry in texture at the same time. Refined and elegant. The tannins are felt on the finish at this stage but no heat or aggression. Great harmony.

Deep, glowing crimson. After two very sweet-tasting Shirazes, this seems deliciously restrained on the nose even though it is full of dark fruit. A touch of pepper and spice and mildly reductive, in a promising way. Full, firm but super-smooth and shows really excellent harmony between fruit and structure. Such a light touch allows the fruit to shine. Finely chewy finish, cool and fresh.

Initial aroma of cloves? Though this gives way to citrus and herbs. An attractive dusty quality too. Bone dry, a touch of lanolin on the palate, creamy texture, persistent. A bit of heat on the finish. Finesse and tension. More to give.
