David Wood, Head Sommelier at Mr Wong’s in Sydney names Cullen Wines’ Kevin John as the ‘best bottle in Australia right now.’ (Qantas Travel Insider Magazine, Oct 2016).

Mr Wong is one of the restaurants in the stable of Merivale restaurants and venues and boasts a number of prestigious awards, including the 2014 Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Awards, New Restaurant of the Year.

As well as a sensational menu with strong Asian influences, Mr Wong boasts an extensive wine list featuring some of the best wines from Australia and around the world. This includes Cullen Wines’ 2014 Kevin John Chardonnay and the 2013 Diana Madeline.

David was asked a number of questions, including what was the best wine to buy for $20 or under, what style of grape was hot right now and what wine was best with Chinese cuisine. When asked ‘What’s the best bottle of wine in Australia right now?’ his answer was Cullen Wines’ Kevin John Chardonnay – ‘I simple adore this wine,’ he said.
