Following the success of last year, the Margaret River Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Vanya Cullen invite you to join us for a special morning of inspiration and celebration with a selection of heartfelt, humorous and
awe-inspiring stories from accomplished guest speakers.

Keynote Speaker
Peggy Strudwick-Brown

Recognised in the Top 100 Women of the Goldfields in 100 Years, Peggy Strudwick-Brown successfully built one of the largest regional recruitment agency in one of WA’s ‘blokiest’ environments.
Commencing business in 1989, Peggy penetrated the Perth market in 2005 (employing over 200 people at one time) and sold both businesses in 2014, exceeding the benchmark in the earn out period.
Peggy was a Finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Awards in 1996 and won the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Person that same year. She also won Business of the Year in 2000.

 

Guest Speakers
Rebecca Hannan

Performance and mindset coach Rebecca Hannan’s family tag her as the one who ‘feels the fear and does it anyway’. That said Rebecca knows how it feels to be unfulfilled and stuck. She understands the importance of self-belief and getting out of your own way. Rebecca has thrived professionally in careers in real estate and fitness. She is a dedicated endurance athlete and the first woman to have run the 130 km Cape to Cape track in 24 hours in May 2016. As part of this run she helped to raise $5000 to establish Youthcare local, a support service for at risk students at local schools.

 

Charlotte O’Beirne

Winner of the MRRBA 2016 People’s Choice Award, Charlotte O’Beirne is the founder of Swimming Women, a business that has connected over 700 women in the Shire of Augusta Margaret River to share a love of swimming. Charlotte’s a passionate swimmer, having competed in the Rottnest Channel Swim eight times, twice as a solo swimmer. She is a staunch advocate for the motto “it’s never too late to learn”, last year completing the Paris Marathon as an excuse to drink Champagne under the Eiffel Tower.

Vanya Cullen

Following in her family’s pioneering footsteps, Vanya Cullen is an internationally acclaimed winemaker, transforming Cullen Wines into a world renowned certified biodynamic carbon neutral naturally powered wine estate. Working at the winery since 1983 (with Diana Madeline Cullen for 20 years) she become chief wine maker in 1989 and Managing Director in 1999. Vanya was the first West Australian and first woman to win the Qantas/ Winemaker Magazine Winemaker of the Year Award. In 2008, she was awarded the UK Drinks Business Magazine “Woman of the Year 2008” and in 2011 the “Green Personality of the Year” for her commitment to operating a successful business while looking after the environment.
