THE MARGARET RIVER REPORT BY CH’NG POH TIONG: JUNE 2013

Cullen Wines are very pleased to have rated the highest score in both Vintages, the only winery to do so!

CH’NG Poh Tiong’s inaugural “The Margaret River Report” was publically released at the international wine event Vinexpo in Bordeaux last week. Click here to read the full report.

Poh Tiong decided to add a new focus to his extensive wine career and branch out from being a specialist in French wines to include Margaret River simply on the basis of the sheer quality of what we produce here. Blind tastings took place early this year with only red wines comprising 100% Margaret River GI fruit from the varietals of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot eligible.

Congratulations to all involved and well done to those wineries that scored 3 Stars and above. For the 2009 vintage there were 35 entries 18 of whom were rated 3 Stars and above or 51.5%. With the 2010 vintage 55 entries were received and 35 were also rated 3 Stars and above or 56.0%.
