2015 Grace Madeline Magnum

As usual, this blend contains a greater volume of Sauvignon Blanc than Semillon, which reflects the outstanding qualities of the fruit produced by the former variety on the Cullen Vineyard. We picked at optimal ripeness with harvest conditions quite similar to 2014 resulting in elegant wines and displaying beautiful fruit purity.

Complexity and completeness have been enhanced through maturing some of the wine in new oak.

Vintage Notes

2015 Vintage Report

Strikingly similar harvest to 2014 in terms of weather and yields.  Similar rainfall, dry from October to March.  One difference was the Marri blossom which did not flower until after harvest, this created a lot of bird pressure.

The time of harvest was almost identical to 2014, finishing mid-March, however the wine styles will be different.  2015 wines are characterised by lots of perfume, purity and great elegance whereas the 2014 wines are about fruit power and purity

Tasting Notes

Bouquet: Delightful combination of fresh cut grass, spicy and vanillin oak aromas supported by tropical notes. Palate: Vibrant fruit lifted by citrus notes. Very complex already with lovely stone fruit nuances and toasty characteristics. Barrel fermentation is seamless and playing second role.
A brilliant example of this classic blend.
