The 2020 Diana Madeline vintage was hot and dry. For the old block cabernet sauvignon vines these drought like conditions resulted in the vines producing small berries, and hence the vines were low yielding - .i.e. bunch numbers were average but with low berry weight. This produced a wine of elegance, balance and perfume… effortless.

The 2020 Kevin John is made from the Wente Clone planted in 1976 on Cullen Vineyard. The soil is forest grove and mostly southerly slope or level. The vines are certified biodynamic, and in 2020 produced a yield of 1.3 tonnes per hectare.

Grace Madeline is Diana Madeline’s mother and Vanya Cullen’s maternal grandmother. This wine named in her honour is a blend of 93% Sauvignon Blanc and 7% Semillon.

The Grace Madeline is the name of Diana Madeline’s mother, who was born in London in 1895 and died in Tasmania in 1963. She was an inspirational suffragette and nature photographer. This wine is made from 100% Cullen Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon vines planted in 1976-1988.

This wine is a made from 53% Mangan and 47% Cullen Estate vineyards. It is a blend of 74.9% cabernet sauvignon, 23% merlot, 2% cabernet franc and 0.1% petit verdot.

Life is a dance!!! A dance between the sun and the moon. They give to, and circle the earth. The moon is the most important planet in our biodynamic practice and the sun gives us life ... we honour the sun in the naming of this wine.

Diana Madeline Cullen always liked the cooler seasons for Cabernet Sauvignon, especially the 1982.

These old vine Cabernet Sauvignon Houghton clones (8 different clones) were planted in 1971 on their own roots and are destined for the flagship wine Diana Madeline.
2018 produced small yields, being 5.88 tonnes per hectare of Cabernet Sauvignon from certified biodynamic, carbon negative fruit. This has created a natural wine with elegance, balance and power.

The best batch of Cabernet Sauvignon harvested on a full flower day from the great 2018 vintage. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon crushed into amphora and aged on skins for 56 days before pressing with a short maturation in 100% puncheon oak for 5 months. It has had no fining.

This wine, our flagship 2019 Kevin John has been sourced from our old chardonnay vines planted in 1976-1988. They are Gin Gin Clone, also known as the Old Wente Clone originally from UC Davis. They produce tiny yields of the best quality fruit.

The Malbec vines were planted in 1995 and 1997 and always make an incredibly vibrant wine. It is perfectly suited to the expressive no additions of sulphur dioxide wine style.

This delicious wine is made from dry farmed malbec from the Mangan Vineyard, and is certified biodynamic and carbon positive. It was harvested on a fruit day in the biodynamic calendar, before being naturally fermented without additions. No preservatives have been used in the production of this wine.

The 2016 season delivered another outstanding vintage: the fruit produced by all varieties in the vineyards of Cullen Wines was exceptional.

We have observed that Moon Opposite Saturn Harvest (MOSH) gives us wines which are vibrant, mineral and full of life, so we harvested separately on this day, which was a flower day harvest and whole bunch pressed to barrel where the wines went through natural fermentation.

This wine of the 2017 vintage is a tribute to the land and the vines it came from. Pure expression of a great year for Cullen Wines.
